In the article, 'What Went Wrong' the decision, to use the mapping of destruction as it seemed to operate counterintuitively with both the intensity of the storm and the age of the houses proved to be a productive overlay of data. The insights gleaned from these mapping overlays allowed for the physical construction of the homes themselves to be called into question and subsequently linked with the progressive building codes indicating where there were lapses in oversight, skill knowledge, or corruption at play. These mapped data sets allowed for the appropriate information to make this article not just informative, but to begin to hold some individuals and groups accountable for the public welfare they are elected to protect.
